German Double-Standard Policy with Israel,Palestinians

Al-Manar

"12/02/2008 As the international community adopts the double-standard policy in dealing with Israel and Arab countries, especially the resistance groups there, Germany would not be so different. For that reason, the concepts were reversed; the murderer became the victim and the victim turned into a killer; the occupier has the right to defend himself while the landowner is a terrorist because he is defending his home and people!!!

Germany's Chancellor Angela Merkel said Tuesday that her country would support an Israeli operation in Gaza, in view of the ongoing Qassam fire, which the Palestinian resistance fighters use to defend their homeland and their people.

During her meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert in Berlin, Merkel said that Germany is well aware of the situation in Gaza, adding the situation has only one solution and that is for Hamas resistance group to stop the Qassam attacks. Should the fire persist, said Markel, ‘Israel has every right to defend itself’.

The double-standard policy reached out to tackle Iranian nuclear program. During their meeting, Olmert stressed that his government still views Iran's nuclear program as a threat and said Jerusalem will respond to attacks from Gaza "in every possible manner which will be effective."

Olmert brushed aside the notion that Iran no longer posed a threat after a US national intelligence report estimated that Tehran had stopped working on a nuclear program. Israel still "is of the opinion that the Iranians are moving forward" with plans "to create a capacity for non-conventional weapons," Olmert told reporters.

Asked whether a military response was still an option, he cited US President George W. Bush as saying that "nothing is ruled out."......"
