Hezbollah "Proud and Honored" after Bush Accusations

Al-Manar

"20/04/2008 Hezbollah said that any noble resistance would feel pride when accused by tyrannical powers and heads of global terrorism, on top of which is US President George W. Bush's administration, of terrorism among other charges. In a statement issued Saturday, Hezbollah stressed it views Bush's administration's accusations as a Legion of Honor on the chest of resistance fighters.
"Bush's allegations are proof that Hezbollah is on the right track and that its project poses real danger to the American-Israeli scheme as a whole," the statement said.

"It goes without saying that the neo-conservatives and their ruling administration in Washington pose the most serious threat to international peace and stability through their continuous, mobile, preemptive and anticipated wars." Hezbollah's statement reminded of the July 2006 US-Israeli war on Lebanon, which killed innocent civilians in bloody massacres similar to what is happening in occupied Palestine and Iraq. "They have appointed themselves enemies of all resistance forces seeking freedom in the region, becoming a hated despotic group in the whole world, yet they wonder why the world hates them," the statement added.

"The people of Lebanon have spent the better part of three decades living under the threat of violence, assassinations, and other forms of intimidation," said Bush. "Since the Beirut attack, we and citizens of many countries have suffered more attacks at the hands of Hezbollah and other terrorists," Bush claimed in reference to the 25th anniversary of the April 18, 1983 bombing of the US Embassy in Beirut.

"Bush's slanders against Hezbollah are proof of the level of frustration the US hegemonic scheme has reached. It also illustrates the dangerous repercussions on the US, resulting from fiasco in the face of the resistance of this region," the statement said, noting that the quick assaults on Hezbollah by Washington's tools in Lebanon and the region only echo Bush's campaign against the resistance and its symbols."
