Gaza War Crimes: Israeli Government Contradicts its Own "Self-Defense" Argument
Information on official website tacitly acknowledges war crimes in Gaza

Amazingly, the Israeli Government's attack on the Goldstone Report and its longstanding claim that it was acting in self-defense against Hamas rocket fire is flatly contradicted by evidence provided by the Israeli government itself on its own web site. The web site dramatically shows that the Israeli government had already effectively stopped rocket fire long before Israeli forces launched their initial attack on Gaza on November 4, 2008.

"Gen. Stanley McChrystal, the US commander in Afghanistan, has said that he has received a recommendation advocating a plan called Chaosistan for the war-tron Central Asian nation.
He made the remarks in a speech in London earlier this month in which he commented on a paper on the Chaosistan plan.
McChrystal said the plan stated that Afghanistan should be allowed to become a "Somalia-like haven of chaos that we simply manage from outside."
But he did not reveal the paper's origins.
Later, two US intelligence officials told Newsweek that the reference almost certainly comes from a secret CIA analysis entitled "Chaosistan".
The document, prepared by a "red team" of CIA analysts, picks apart conventional analyses of the war inside Afghanistan, according to the officials, who spoke on condition of anonymity......"

I thought that it would be interesting to see what Michael Ledeen was advocating way back on September 20, 2001, in his paper, "Creative Destruction
How to wage a revolutionary war."
Here is an excerpt from that paper:

In Afghanistan, the Northern Alliance, despite the assassination of its historic leader Massoud, is still a force to be reckoned with, and they have offered us their support in dislodging the Taliban. And there are others, including the deposed king, still formally recognized as the legitimate ruler of Afghanistan by most of the civilized world. In Iraq, we have halfheartedly supported an umbrella organization, the Iraqi National Congress, under the outstanding leadership of Ahmed Chalabi. Yet the State Department, as recently as yesterday, was still telling them that they must not, under any circumstances, operate inside Iraq. That is sheer folly, for it guarantees that we get the worst of both worlds: We enrage Saddam even further, but ensure that we won't be able to get close to his throat. "The Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) has since its formative years in the 1980s staunchly called for armed resistance against Israeli occupation and refused to acknowledge or participate in peace talks.
Headquartered in Syria, the PIJ is much smaller than Hamas but both groups find their inspirational roots in the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood.
Fathi al-Shaqaqi, the group's leader, was killed in Malta in 1995 in what many believe was an Israeli commando operation. Ramadan Abdullah Shallah, a British-trained academic who lectured in Middle East studies at the University of South Florida, was selected by the leadership to succeed al-Shaqaqi as the group's secretary-general.
Al Jazeera recently interviewed Shallah who said that current efforts to restart the peace process were merely attempts to "resell the illusion of peace".
Al Jazeera: Political reconciliation initiatives between Palestinian factions seem to have faltered and Gaza remains under Israeli siege. What does the PIJ perceive to be the biggest threats facing the Palestinians today?

"The centenary of Tel Aviv, a city said to date from 1909, has provided a useful opportunity to present the face of Israel as a hip country built by Jewish pioneers on empty sands. Its vibrant cosmopolitan flavour, its commercial centre, its Mediterranean beaches, its liberal society and culture, are seen as signifying a truly commendable Zionist enterprise. According to the blurb on the centenary celebrations "several dozen families gathered on the sand dunes on the beach outside Yafo to allocate plots of land for a new neighbourhood they called Ahuzat Bayit, later known as Tel Aviv".
After the horrors of the Gaza onslaught and unending blockade, and the evidence of war crimes committed by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) early this year (which Israel has responded to with hysterical denial) no effort has been spared by the Israeli embassy and its propaganda machines to deflect the attention of the world to Israel's marvellous technical and medical discoveries, and to use Tel Aviv to present its upbeat image. Hence Tel Aviv festivities were organised in New York, Vienna, Copenhagen and Paris, with the creation of Tel Aviv beaches in Central Park and along the banks of the Seine, the Danube and Copenhagen's canals.......
As an open letter put it last month, protesting at Toronto International Film Festival's decision to spotlight Tel Aviv:
Looking at modern, sophisticated Tel Aviv without also considering the city's past and the realities of Israeli occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza strip, would be like rhapsodising about the beauty and elegant lifestyles in white-only Cape Town or Johannesburg during apartheid without acknowledging the corresponding black townships of Khayelitsha and Soweto."

The document, dated Monday, came from an office led by Mohammed Ghneim, a Fatah hardliner and the party's number two, who returned to the West Bank only this year after many years in exile. He was long a critic of the Oslo accords of the mid-1990s, arguing they gave too much to the Israelis.
Other Palestinian figures share the frustrations. Mohammad Dahlan was reported as saying this week that he felt "very disappointed and worried by the US administration retreat"........"

غضب يمتد من عُمق فلسطين المحتلّة عام 48 التي توافق الحدث مع استذكارها لشهداء قضوا وهم يتضامنون مع شعبهم، إلى الضفّة الغربية حيث يتابع الفلسطينيّون الخطوات الحثيثة لبناء (الهيكل) وتدمير الأقصى، إلى المجروحين في قطاع غزّة الذين أرخص دمهم باستهتار.
تفويت فرصة التصويت على تقريرغولدستون تفضح عقلية الانتقام من أهلنا في غزة وقود كل المعارك عبر التاريخ البعيد والقريب، الذين احتضنوا العمل الفدائي منذ منتصف الخمسينات بقيادة مصطفى حافظ الشهيد، وحتى تأسيس منظمة التحرير بقيادة الباني المؤسس الأستاذ أحمد الشقيري الذي حرص على تأسيس الكتائب الأولى من جيش التحرير الفلسطيني على أرض القطاع، ومن إرادة المقاومة التي تفجّرت بعد هزيمة حزيران 67.
رد الفعل تعبيرعن غليان واحتقان طال احتباسه، وثورة كرامة وطنية على مستهترين خُيّل لهم بأنهم (يقودون) الشعب الفلسطيني العريق في كفاحه، وقد دُجّن، بحيث يؤخذ حيثما يشاءون دون أي احتمال من ثورة مفاجئة على تواصل الاستخفاف به وبحقوقه الوطنيّة.
حيويّة الشعب الفلسطيني تجددت وانفجرت دفعة واحدة، لأن ما جرى في جنيف فاق كل حد، فهو فجور لم يسبق لقيادة فلسطينية أن أقدمت على اقتراف ما يشابهه!

جماعة أوسلو بدأوا مع احتدام الحملة الشعبية بالتنصّل من تحمّل المسؤولية، ثمّ أخذوا يتلمسون المبررات لما حدث عندما أدركوا مدى فداحة خساراتهم الشخصية!
منذ الساعات الأولى للفضيحة بدأت تتوالى نداءات وبيانات ومقترحات بضرورة محاكمة قيادة أوسلو بما جرّته على شعبنا من مصائب، وما أضاعته من أرض، وعلى فسادها مجموعة وأفرادا.
تبلور التوجه من خلال اتصالات بين كفاءات فلسطينيّة مستقلة عن التنظيمات منتمية للقضية والشعب والأمة، بأن يُدعى لتشكيل محكمة شعبية فلسطينية عربيّة دولية تنطلق من محاكمة قيادة السلطة على جريمة تأجيل التصويت على تقرير غولدستون، لتصل إلى فتح ملف مسيرة أوسلو بما جرّته على شعبنا ووطننا وقضيتنا من كوارث، أمام محكمة تقدم لها ملفات تفصيلية بحجم الأرض التي صادرها الاحتلال منذ بدأت حقبة السلطة حتى يومنا هذا، وفضح ادعاءات قيادة السلطة التي ترددها باستمرار بأنها أدخلت 200 ألف فلسطيني وأكثر إلى الضفة والقطاع، ومواجهة هذا الكذب والتضليل بأرقام المستوطنين اليهود الذين بدأوا بافتراس مدن وقرى الضفّة، ومدينة القدس، منذ التوقيع على أوسلو حتى يومنا هذا، والذي بلغ قرابة 450 ألف مستوطن مسلح يزدادون يوميا، يسرقون الأرض والماء. محاكمة الفساد ومسلسله الرهيب غير المسبوق في تاريخ حركات التحرر في عصرنا، وحتى في كثير من دول العالم الثالث المشهورة بالفساد، فالإثراء من دم شعبنا فاق ثراء بعض أمراء النفط!
هذه الهبة المضطرمة المتصاعدة فلسطينيا، والتي تجتذب اهتماما عربيا شعبيا، جعلت قيادة أوسلو وأجهزتها ومؤسساتها تقف عارية بدون ورقة توت تستر عورتها السياسية!
سيحاول جماعة أوسلو تفادي هبة الغضب، والخروج منها كما اعتادوا من قبل، ليواصلوا تدبير صفقتهم التي تطبخ في العتمة كما فعلوا في أوسلو حين فاجأوا شعبنا وجماهير أمتنا. لذا يجب أن لا يفلتوا هذه المرة، لأن الكارثة آتية إن هم أفلتوا. وللتدليل على خطورة ما يدبّر فإنني سأشير إلى بعض ما جاء في مقالة ألكس فيشمان في صحيفة 'يديعوت أحرونوت' الصهيونيّة بتاريخ 24 تموز/يوليو 2009 تحت عنوان: كل شيء جاهز ولم يبق إلا التوقيع!
يكشف فيشمان في مقالته خطوط الملحق الأمني لوثيقة جنيف، حيث يُتفق على تفاصيل التفاصيل للحل النهائي للقضية الفلسطينية.
ولأن المقال طويل فإنني سأضع أمام قرّاء 'القدس العربي' بعض أخطر ما جاء فيه والذي لم ينفه الطرف الفلسطيني، وهو كما يرى الدكتور الصديق أنيس فوزي القاسم الذي لفت انتباه كثيرين لخطورة ما جاء في تلك المقالة: لا يقّل خطورة عن تأجيل تقرير غولدستون، إن لم يفقه خطرا، لأن فيه تصفية القضية الفلسطينيّة!
في الفقرة الرابعة من المقال نقرأ ما يلي: ممثلون (إسرائيليون) وفلسطينيون يعكفون منذ عام ونصف بصورة متواصلة على إعداد الملحق الأمني الذي يحول مصطلح الدولة الفلسطينية منزوعة السلاح إلى مفهوم عملي.
بعدئذ نقرأ: على رأس الطاقم الفلسطيني سميح العبد وزير سابق، ومن كان حتى قبل عدة أشهر رئيس طاقم المفاوضات الفلسطيني في قضية الحدود. ياسر عبد ربه أمين سر اللجنة التنفيذيّة لـ م.ت.ف المقرّب من أبو مازن، كان ضالعا ومطلعا على كل مراحل الإعداد. كما تضم المختّص البريطاني البريغادير جنرال المتقاعد جون دوفوريل الذي خدم في المنطقة حتى الآونة الأخيرة في إطار القوّة الأمريكية البريطانية الكنديّة بمساعدة الفلسطينيين أمنيا، إلى الوفد. الرئيس أبو مازن أعطى مصادقته في كل مرحلة من مراحل النقاش.
في فقرة أخرى يكتب فيشمان: ليس صدفة أن الكتائب الفلسطينية تجتاز إعدادا وتأهيلاً يتوافق مع المهمات التي خصصت لها في الملحق: الحفاظ على القانون والنظام، مهمات الاستخبارات ورقابة الحدود، ومنع الإرهاب...
في الاتفاق الأمني يحدد الطرف (الإسرائيلي) الأمريكي ما يحظر على الفلسطينيين امتلاكه في (دولتهم) الفلسطينية: دبابات، صواريخ، سلاح مضاد للطائرات، أدوات بحار ومدفعية من كل الأنواع، راجمات صواريخ، وألغام، مروحيات، طائرات حربية. سيكون بأيدي القوت الفلسطينية 400 مؤللة خفيفة تحمل أنواع السلاح المباح فقط: سلاح خفيف ووسائل تفريق التظاهرات.
بحسب المقالة التي تكشف بنود الاتفــــاق الأمني الذي تصاغ (الدولة) الفلسطينيّة بموجبه، فقد طلب الطرف الفلسطيني فقط قاذفات آر. بي. جي لمواجهة الإرهابيين، وحتى اللحظة لم تتم الموافقة على الطلب!
حتى تضمن (إسرائيل) عدم وقوع انقلاب على السلطة، وتسرب إرهابيين، فقد وافق الطرف الفلسطيني المفاوض على بقاء قوّات (إسرائيلية) في الأغوار على الضفّة الغربيّة لنهر الأردن!
الاتفاق ينص على بناء جدران مع مصر والأردن، ومحطات رقابة الكترونيّة في قمم الجبال كجبل عيبال نابلس. سلاح الجو (الإسرائيلي) يحق له التدرب في سماء الضفّة، ومشاركة (إسرائيلية) في المعابر مع مصر والأردن.
بعد ثلاثين شهرا يصل الجانبان إلى الحدود الدائمة كما حددت في جنيف 2003 والتي تمثل تبادلاً للأراضي، وهي حدود متحركة، ويتراوح طولها بين 600 و700 كم...
لا حديث عن حّق عودة اللاجئين، ولا العاصمة القدس، فطبخة السّم تعد في الظلام وستخرج علينا بها عصابة تمضي دون رادع في إضاعة القضية، وعندها سنسمع بيانات الشجب العاجزة من فصائل اليسار، ومن فصائل المعارضة، وسيكون قد فات الأوان على نهوض حالة المقاومة بسبب موقف المراوحة للواقفين في الوسط فلا هم مقاومة ولا هم منخرطون نهائيا في السلطة، بينما يتواصل التلهي بالمصالحة وتأجيلها، ويتوه الناس فلا دليل ولا حادي للركب، ولكنها المتاهة إلا إذا غادر المترددون الانتظار والمساومة وعادوا لخيار المقاومة قبل فوات الأوان، ووقوع مفاجأة أكثر خطورةً من جريمة وكارثة أوسلو!

تبلور التوجه من خلال اتصالات بين كفاءات فلسطينيّة مستقلة عن التنظيمات منتمية للقضية والشعب والأمة، بأن يُدعى لتشكيل محكمة شعبية فلسطينية عربيّة دولية تنطلق من محاكمة قيادة السلطة على جريمة تأجيل التصويت على تقرير غولدستون، لتصل إلى فتح ملف مسيرة أوسلو بما جرّته على شعبنا ووطننا وقضيتنا من كوارث، أمام محكمة تقدم لها ملفات تفصيلية بحجم الأرض التي صادرها الاحتلال منذ بدأت حقبة السلطة حتى يومنا هذا، وفضح ادعاءات قيادة السلطة التي ترددها باستمرار بأنها أدخلت 200 ألف فلسطيني وأكثر إلى الضفة والقطاع، ومواجهة هذا الكذب والتضليل بأرقام المستوطنين اليهود الذين بدأوا بافتراس مدن وقرى الضفّة، ومدينة القدس، منذ التوقيع على أوسلو حتى يومنا هذا، والذي بلغ قرابة 450 ألف مستوطن مسلح يزدادون يوميا، يسرقون الأرض والماء. محاكمة الفساد ومسلسله الرهيب غير المسبوق في تاريخ حركات التحرر في عصرنا، وحتى في كثير من دول العالم الثالث المشهورة بالفساد، فالإثراء من دم شعبنا فاق ثراء بعض أمراء النفط!
هذه الهبة المضطرمة المتصاعدة فلسطينيا، والتي تجتذب اهتماما عربيا شعبيا، جعلت قيادة أوسلو وأجهزتها ومؤسساتها تقف عارية بدون ورقة توت تستر عورتها السياسية!
سيحاول جماعة أوسلو تفادي هبة الغضب، والخروج منها كما اعتادوا من قبل، ليواصلوا تدبير صفقتهم التي تطبخ في العتمة كما فعلوا في أوسلو حين فاجأوا شعبنا وجماهير أمتنا. لذا يجب أن لا يفلتوا هذه المرة، لأن الكارثة آتية إن هم أفلتوا. وللتدليل على خطورة ما يدبّر فإنني سأشير إلى بعض ما جاء في مقالة ألكس فيشمان في صحيفة 'يديعوت أحرونوت' الصهيونيّة بتاريخ 24 تموز/يوليو 2009 تحت عنوان: كل شيء جاهز ولم يبق إلا التوقيع!
يكشف فيشمان في مقالته خطوط الملحق الأمني لوثيقة جنيف، حيث يُتفق على تفاصيل التفاصيل للحل النهائي للقضية الفلسطينية.
ولأن المقال طويل فإنني سأضع أمام قرّاء 'القدس العربي' بعض أخطر ما جاء فيه والذي لم ينفه الطرف الفلسطيني، وهو كما يرى الدكتور الصديق أنيس فوزي القاسم الذي لفت انتباه كثيرين لخطورة ما جاء في تلك المقالة: لا يقّل خطورة عن تأجيل تقرير غولدستون، إن لم يفقه خطرا، لأن فيه تصفية القضية الفلسطينيّة!
في الفقرة الرابعة من المقال نقرأ ما يلي: ممثلون (إسرائيليون) وفلسطينيون يعكفون منذ عام ونصف بصورة متواصلة على إعداد الملحق الأمني الذي يحول مصطلح الدولة الفلسطينية منزوعة السلاح إلى مفهوم عملي.
بعدئذ نقرأ: على رأس الطاقم الفلسطيني سميح العبد وزير سابق، ومن كان حتى قبل عدة أشهر رئيس طاقم المفاوضات الفلسطيني في قضية الحدود. ياسر عبد ربه أمين سر اللجنة التنفيذيّة لـ م.ت.ف المقرّب من أبو مازن، كان ضالعا ومطلعا على كل مراحل الإعداد. كما تضم المختّص البريطاني البريغادير جنرال المتقاعد جون دوفوريل الذي خدم في المنطقة حتى الآونة الأخيرة في إطار القوّة الأمريكية البريطانية الكنديّة بمساعدة الفلسطينيين أمنيا، إلى الوفد. الرئيس أبو مازن أعطى مصادقته في كل مرحلة من مراحل النقاش.
في فقرة أخرى يكتب فيشمان: ليس صدفة أن الكتائب الفلسطينية تجتاز إعدادا وتأهيلاً يتوافق مع المهمات التي خصصت لها في الملحق: الحفاظ على القانون والنظام، مهمات الاستخبارات ورقابة الحدود، ومنع الإرهاب...
في الاتفاق الأمني يحدد الطرف (الإسرائيلي) الأمريكي ما يحظر على الفلسطينيين امتلاكه في (دولتهم) الفلسطينية: دبابات، صواريخ، سلاح مضاد للطائرات، أدوات بحار ومدفعية من كل الأنواع، راجمات صواريخ، وألغام، مروحيات، طائرات حربية. سيكون بأيدي القوت الفلسطينية 400 مؤللة خفيفة تحمل أنواع السلاح المباح فقط: سلاح خفيف ووسائل تفريق التظاهرات.
بحسب المقالة التي تكشف بنود الاتفــــاق الأمني الذي تصاغ (الدولة) الفلسطينيّة بموجبه، فقد طلب الطرف الفلسطيني فقط قاذفات آر. بي. جي لمواجهة الإرهابيين، وحتى اللحظة لم تتم الموافقة على الطلب!
حتى تضمن (إسرائيل) عدم وقوع انقلاب على السلطة، وتسرب إرهابيين، فقد وافق الطرف الفلسطيني المفاوض على بقاء قوّات (إسرائيلية) في الأغوار على الضفّة الغربيّة لنهر الأردن!
الاتفاق ينص على بناء جدران مع مصر والأردن، ومحطات رقابة الكترونيّة في قمم الجبال كجبل عيبال نابلس. سلاح الجو (الإسرائيلي) يحق له التدرب في سماء الضفّة، ومشاركة (إسرائيلية) في المعابر مع مصر والأردن.
بعد ثلاثين شهرا يصل الجانبان إلى الحدود الدائمة كما حددت في جنيف 2003 والتي تمثل تبادلاً للأراضي، وهي حدود متحركة، ويتراوح طولها بين 600 و700 كم...
لا حديث عن حّق عودة اللاجئين، ولا العاصمة القدس، فطبخة السّم تعد في الظلام وستخرج علينا بها عصابة تمضي دون رادع في إضاعة القضية، وعندها سنسمع بيانات الشجب العاجزة من فصائل اليسار، ومن فصائل المعارضة، وسيكون قد فات الأوان على نهوض حالة المقاومة بسبب موقف المراوحة للواقفين في الوسط فلا هم مقاومة ولا هم منخرطون نهائيا في السلطة، بينما يتواصل التلهي بالمصالحة وتأجيلها، ويتوه الناس فلا دليل ولا حادي للركب، ولكنها المتاهة إلا إذا غادر المترددون الانتظار والمساومة وعادوا لخيار المقاومة قبل فوات الأوان، ووقوع مفاجأة أكثر خطورةً من جريمة وكارثة أوسلو!

Hamas denounces the murder of detained Abu Zuhri in Egyptian jails
"GAZA, (PIC)-- Hamas mourned the death of Yousef Abu Zuhri, the brother of its spokesman in Gaza Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, who died Tuesday of torture in one of the Egyptian jails.
The Movement in a statement strongly condemned the murder under torture of Yousef Abu Zuhri, adding that Cairo should investigate the incident and put on trial those responsible [Dear Hamas: Those responsible work under the direct orders of the CIA asset, Intelligence chief Suleiman, with whom you have been conducting "brotherly" negotiations for "reconciliation"and he is the one you thanked for his "sincere efforts" to help "Palestinian unity."].
Hamas described the incident as "serious and bizarre", adding that Yousef, 38, was subjected to excruciating torture that led to internal bleeding for two weeks before his death.
"We have contacted officials in Egypt several times during his detention period to save his life and asked for transferring him to hospital for treatment but to no avail," Hamas said, adding that Yousef had asked his family in a brief call from his jail to contact Egyptian officials to save his life.
The Movement asked the Egyptian leadership to release all political detainees topped by Ayman Nofal before they die in similar circumstances in Egyptian jails, adding that its concern over their lives was growing following Yousef's death.
Hamas asked the Egyptian and Arab human rights groups to assume their responsibilities and to expose the crime and to adopt all steps necessary to investigate the crime and bring the culprits to account.
Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri had earlier announced the death of his brother in a statement to the PIC, adding that Yousef died of torture.
He said that the Egyptian security only carried Yousef to hospital when his condition was critical and after a preliminary surgery he was returned to jail in a very bad condition until his death was known without any announcement by the Egyptian authorities.
Abu Zurhi said that his brother was arrested when he crossed into the Egyptian territory last April without any charge then underwent cruel interrogation rounds."

The United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) August 2009 report says more than 6,400 homes were destroyed or severely damaged, and over 52,000 suffered minor damage from bombing during Israel's winter war on Gaza.
The OCHA report notes that the continued Israeli-led siege on Gaza has prevented reconstruction or repair of 13,900 homes, including approximately 2,700 homes damaged or destroyed in earlier Israeli military operations, and of 3,000 housing units intended to replace inadequate homes in crowded refugee camps.
Over 20,000 Palestinians remain displaced in Gaza, with approximately 100 families still living in emergency tents provided by aid agencies......"

The additional forces are primarily support forces -- such as engineers, medical personnel, intelligence experts and military police -- the Post said, bringing the total buildup Obama has approved for the war-torn nation to 34,000.
"Obama authorized the whole thing. The only thing you saw announced in a press release was the 21,000," a defense official familiar with the troop-approval process told the daily. The report, posted on the newspaper's website late Monday, came as Obama weighs a request from the top US and NATO commander in Afghanistan, General Stanley McChrystal, for more combat, training and support troops, with several options including one for 40,000 more forces........"

U.S. to Egypt: Fatah-Hamas deal undermines Israel-PA talks

"The United States sent a message to Egypt stating it does not support the proposed reconciliation agreement between Fatah and Hamas as it would undermine negotiations with Israel, Haaretz has learned.
George Mitchell, the U.S. envoy to the Middle East, met on Saturday night in Cairo with the chief of Egyptian intelligence, Gen. Omar Suleiman, and told him the United States would not support an agreement not aligned with the principles of the Quartet.
According to the agreement, which was supposed to have been signed by Thursday, Abbas was to issue a presidential decree no later than October 25, scheduling both parliamentary and presidential elections for June 28. Eighty percent of the delegates to the Palestinian parliament were to be elected by party basis, and 20 percent by constituency.
A special committee with delegates from all factions was supposed to have assumed control of the Gaza Strip, reporting to Abbas. The Strip was also to see a new security force, staffed with members of all Palestinian factions.
Sources told Haaretz that Mitchell made clear to the Egyptians on Saturday the United States expects any Palestinian government to follow the conditions of the Quartet, which include recognition of the State of Israel, acknowledging earlier agreements and renouncing terrorism.
Mitchell also said certain aspects of current agreement were poorly timed as they would undermine relaunching negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians.
The administration official said that the United States would continue to oppose those aspects of the agreement at any time. He noted American views on Palestinian governance have been made clear to the Egyptians several times.
The proposed Hamas and Fatah reconciliation agreement would have ended three years of civil strife and political discordance. The actual reconciliation ceremony between chief of the Hamas political bureau, Khaled Meshal, and Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas, was to be held after the Id al-Adha holiday......."

"حين اتخذ القرار للتصرف في جنيف كما تصرفت سلطة أوسلو كان من أقدم عليه على علم أنه يدق المسمار الأخير في نعش التضامن الدولي بمعناه المألوف. لقد تعرض التضامن الدولي لإرباك الأسئلة التي أثارها اتفاق مثل أوسلو، في اتفاق مع المحتل قبل التوصل حل. فهل النضال مستمر لأن الاحتلال مستمر، أم أن المفاوضات تعني أن الأمر بات منوطا بـ"اتفاق الطرفين"؟ ثم أعادت الانتفاضة الثانية للتضامن بعض الحياة. ولكن الانشقاق الفلسطيني وسلوك سلطة أوسلو تجاه حرب غزة عاد يربكه.

ليس هنالك ما هو أبلغ مما حدث في جنيف عن الفراق بين النخبة السياسية الفلسطينية ومنطق التحرر والتضامن, لم يعد هؤلاء بحاجة للتضامن, فالتضامن يحرجهم أصلا, والمتضامنون بالنسبة لهم أقرب للخصوم منهم للأصدقاء, لقد ودَّع هؤلاء حركة التحرر قبل التحرر

يحاول أوباما أن ينهي ما بدأه بوش وكلينتون في إقناع إسرائيل والعالم العربي بتحويل مشروع الدولة الفلسطينية إلى صفقة شاملة، وهذا لا يعني فقط التنازل عن قضية فلسطين بالمعنى التاريخي المعروف بل يعني أيضا التنازل حتى عن سقف مبادرة السلام العربية

US cancels its biggest air-defence exercise with Israel
The US has cancelled its biggest air-defence exercise with Israel after Turkey refused to allow Israeli aircraft to participate in the war games, due to begin out of Turkish air bases today.
Israeli officials said that Turkey’s stance over the 11-day manoeuvres, codenamed Operation Anatolian Eagle, was the result of lingering anger at Israel’s devastating onslaught on the Gaza Strip last winter.

In June, Israel began barring some North Americans with Palestinian-sounding names entry through Ben Gurion Airport. Forced to reroute through a land-border crossing that connects the West Bank with Jordan, their passports were stamped "Palestinian Authority only," which prevents them from entering Israel proper.

"قرع تقرير غولدستون ناقوس الخطر، واعلن مأزق الحركة الوطنية الفلسطينية وانسداد الأفق امامها. والمأزق ليس مأزق السلطة فقط، بل مأزق معارضتها ايضاً. اثبت الاداء المراوغ للسلطة و'حماس'، ان الشعب الفلسطيني بلا قيادة، وان لعبة شد الحبال السلطوية، هي المسألة الوحيدة التي يتقنها الطرفان. اذ يبدو ان مواجهة الاحتلال في مرحلة الهجوم الاستيطاني والجنون العنصري الذي يريد حسم مسألة الاستيلاء على القدس بالقوة، ليس على اجندة اي من طرفي الصراع الداخلي الفلسطيني. السلطة انحنت للضغوط الامريكية-الاسرائيلية، ومعارضتها الاسلامية ابتلعت نقدها لتقرير غولدستون ورفضها له، من اجل التشهير بالسلطة، بهدف الحلول مكانها.
الشعب الفلسطيني يعاني اليوم من فراغ قيادي شامل. فالسلام الذي حمله الرئيس الامريكي، لم يثمر الى اليوم سوى جائزة نوبل للسلام، وهو امام افق مسدود، بسبب تعنت الحكومة الاسرائيلية التي تضم اليمين الليكودي واليسار العمالي من جهة، وغياب اي ضغط عربي وفلسطيني جدي على اسرائيل والولايات المتحدة من جهة ثانية.
المفاوضات في الشروط الراهــنة، وفي موازين القوى المرتسمة على ارض الصراع، لن تقود الى مكان. الفراغ السياسي سوف يتعاظم، ومؤشرات الاستقرار الأمني والاقتصادي في الضفة الغربية ليست سوى حالة مؤقتة ووهمية وسريعة الذبول.
نحن امام مقدمات انتفاضة فلسطينية ثالثة. والانتفاضة لن تكون وليدة قرار تتخذه هذه القيادة السياسية او تلك، بل ستكون وليدة انفجار شعبي يتنامى، وهي بهذا سوف تكون استكمالا لانتفاضة اطفال الحجارة التي فاجأت القيادة الفلسطينية، قبل ان يتم تبنيها، ويتحول القطاع الغربي في حركة فتح، الذي كان يقوده الشهيد خليل الوزير، الى مركزها وعصبها السياسي والتنظيمي.
ولدت الانتفاضة الأولى من اليأس والاحباط، وتشكلت علاماتها الأولى في حرب المخيمات الوحشية في لبنان، التي قالت للفلسطينيين في الوطن المحتل وفي الشتات انهم وحدهم، وان الحصار سوف يستمر من اجل الوصول الى ابادتهم سياسيا.
كانت آثار اجتياح بيروت وطرد المقاتلين الفلسطينيين على السفن اليونانية البداية التي اوصلت الى مذبحة شاتيلا وصبرا. وبعد الطرد الثاني من طرابلس في الشمال اللبناني، التي تسمى ايضا طرابلس الشام، واندلاع حصار المخيمات في بيروت، صار الفلسطيني وحده في مواجهة الموت. انهدم الجدار الأخير الذي كان يستند اليه، ولم يعد امامه سوى حمل المقلاع في مواجهة دبابة الاحتلال.
فلسطين اليوم في وضع مشابه، وطن وحيد ومحاصر بالاستيطان، وبلا اي عمق استراتيجي يعطي الفلسطينيين اي امل. غزة محاصرة، وليس من المنتظر حدوث اي تغير في الموقف المصري، والضفة الغربية يلتهمها الاستيطان، والقدس مهددة بالتهويد، والحفريات تحت المسجد الأقصى تشير الى ان الهوس الأحمق بالهيكل اليهودي مسألة جدية اكثر مما نعتقد.
من هنا، ومن عمق اليأس، ومن انسداد اي افق لتسوية عقلانية تحفظ الحد الأدنى من الحقوق الانسانية والوطنية للشعب الفلسطيني، سوف تولد الانتفاضة الثالثة.
الانتفاضة الجديدة لا تأتي من لامكان، وليست نتيجة الخيبة او الانسداد السياسي فقط، بل هي ثمرة تراكم تجارب متعددة ومتنوعة، وخبرات ونضالات تبدو صغيرة، لكنها تحمل جميع مؤشرات الامتداد والنمو.
من تجربة مقاومة الجدار في نعلين وبلعين، او من تجارب مشابهة، او من الاحتقان في القدس، او من حادث صغير في جنين او نابلس، سوف يبدأ الاشتعال الفلسطيني، الذي سيكون مفاجئا، وسيعيد رسم خريطة السياسة في المنطقة العربية بأسرها.
ليس من المنطق او العدل ان تتحول القضية المركزية في المنطقة الى قضية هامشية ومهملة، وسط الصراعات الكبرى التي تحيط بنا، من المسألة النووية الايرانية الى العراق الى افغانستان الى آخره... كما انه ليس من المنطقي ان تتصرف القيادة الفلسطينية بسلطتيها في الضفة وغزة، بلا اي رؤية استراتيجية. السلام الذي تريد سلطة رام الله اقناعنا بأنها تسعى اليه، لا يأتي من دون رؤية او استراتيجية مقاومة، ولن يكون هبة من احد، لا من امريكا ولا من اسرائيل. اما المقاومة التي تدعو اليها سلطة غزة، فلا تكون بالصراع على سلطة تحت الاحتلال، وبالتمتع بالسلطة، بل لها حسابات اخرى تم تناسيها.
الغياب الرؤيوي يجعل الشعب الفلسطيني بلا قيادة تتحمل مسؤولية تأسيس افق النضال من اجل طرد الاحتلال. لذا فلا مفرّ من انتفاضة شعبية آتية لا محالة، وسوف تُفاجئ العالم بأسره، لأنها ستعلن نهاية المرحلة برمتها.
الانتفاضة الثالثة سوف تضع امريكا واسرائيل امام احد خيارين:
اما الانسحاب الكامل، وتأسيس دولة فلسطينية ذات سيادة..
واما العودة الى الاحتلال السافر، مما يعني ان اسرائيل تحولت الى دولة تمييز عنصري، وان المعركة ستبقى مفتوحة الى ما لا نهاية.
وهذا يعني ان هناك قــــيادة جديدة للشــعب الفلسطيني يجب ان تولد. قيادة متحررة من منافع السلطة ومنتفعاتها، تطرح خطابا جديدا يستطيع ان يستأنف مسيرة الحرية والتحرير التي بدأت في الأول من كانون الثاني (يناير) عام 1965.
شبح الانتفاضة الثالثة في الأفق، فاستعدوا لاستقبال البداية الجديدة.

RAMALLAH, Oct 12 (IPS) - An increasingly isolated and unpopular Palestinian Authority (PA) has again made a 180-degree turn in the Goldstone report fiasco as it tries to fend off mounting criticism from all and sundry, including its own organisation.......
The PA had initially supported the report, but backed down under intense political pressure from Israel and the U.S.
These latest developments have contributed significantly to a growing rift between the PA and its affiliate Fatah as more and more Palestinians and Arabs see the PA as little more than a stooge of the U.S. and the Israelis.
"The PA is in complete denial. It appears to be living on another planet," Dr Samir Awad from Birzeit University near Ramallah told IPS.
"Something is going to explode. We are sick of them. The Palestinian street wants a divorce from the PA," Aysam Zaid a Fatah leader in Ramallah told IPS......
While a roasting from Hamas and Islamic Jihad was predictable, scathing criticism from within the PA, the PLO and even the Arab-Israeli Balad party appears to have caught Abbas off guard......
Nabil Amr, the former Palestinian ambassador to Egypt, a former aide to the Palestinian President, also lambasted Abbas. PA retaliation was swift. Security personnel for Amr were withdrawn from his Ramallah residence, a serious issue in light of the fact that several years ago gunmen seriously wounded Amr in what appeared to be an assassination attempt.
Balad, the Israeli Arab party, called for Abbas's immediate dismissal last week after convening a conference especially to discuss the matter. This is the first time in Palestinian history that an Israeli Arab party has intervened in PA politics...........
Furthermore, Abbas's recent fiery rhetoric against Israel's Judaisation of East Jerusalem also raised sceptical eyebrows as critics say the PA has done little to counter the developments. Palestinian activists in Jerusalem say that the PA gives minimal financial and legal aid to fight Israeli settlements and home demolitions, and doesn't have a coordinated approach........
However, even with the rift Awad doesn't see a major split between Fatah and the PA in the near future. "Despite the PA having vested economic and political interests in maintaining the status quo at the expense of the Palestinians, many Fatah members will continue to follow the political line as they need to survive economically, and an internal split would cripple their movement politically," Awad told IPS."

"(Jerusalem) - Israeli authorities should immediately lift restrictions that have left students in Gaza's public schools without textbooks and the most basic school supplies, such as notebooks and pens, Human Rights Watch said today. Israel severely limits imports into Gaza of a wide variety of basic goods, from food to construction materials.
More than a month into the school year, the Israeli restrictions have caused severe shortages that leave students unable to afford supplies such as notebooks. Students are obliged to share or take turns studying from used textbooks and workbooks. Some did not receive any books for this year's classes. Supplies smuggled through tunnels underneath Gaza's southern border with Egypt have failed to make up for the shortages caused by Israel's arbitrary restrictions on imports of educational materials....."

"(Jerusalem) - Israeli authorities should immediately lift restrictions that have left students in Gaza's public schools without textbooks and the most basic school supplies, such as notebooks and pens, Human Rights Watch said today. Israel severely limits imports into Gaza of a wide variety of basic goods, from food to construction materials.
More than a month into the school year, the Israeli restrictions have caused severe shortages that leave students unable to afford supplies such as notebooks. Students are obliged to share or take turns studying from used textbooks and workbooks. Some did not receive any books for this year's classes. Supplies smuggled through tunnels underneath Gaza's southern border with Egypt have failed to make up for the shortages caused by Israel's arbitrary restrictions on imports of educational materials....."

In this part of Iraq 500 cases of cancer were diagnosed in 2004. That figure rose to almost 1,000 two years later.

"Israeli sources reported that the Undercover Forces of the Israeli army are now using a new method to capture Palestinian residents and resistance fighters by posing as medics in the occupied territories.
Israeli paper, Maariv, reported on Sunday that the undercover forces are using all available methods to carry out their attacks. It added that besides posing as medics, the undercover forces are also posing as Bedouins, and even as religious Jews in some areas and claim that their vehicles broke down. The new unit now includes 17 Israeli policemen; it was formed last July. The unit said that it carries 30-40 arrests every month. Undercover forces were also very active during the first Palestinian Intifada and are responsible for hundreds of death and thousands of injuries, including severe injuries that caused permanent disabilities as they only use fast automatic small machine guns."

Mishaal: Ramallah authority no longer eligible to lead the Palestinian people
"DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Khaled Mishaal, the political bureau chairman of Hamas, has accused the Ramallah authority led by Mahmoud Abbas of lying and of not being fit to rule the Palestinian people [finally it dawned on Mr. Mishaal].
Mishaal, addressing the concluding session of the international Golan forum attended by 1,428 delegates from 55 countries on Sunday evening, said that all those responsible for delaying the voting on Goldstone report should be brought to account.
He noted that for the first time an international report is condemning Israeli for its aggression on the Palestinians but a Palestinian group stood up to this report, protected Israel and saved it from international condemnation.
The Hamas leader said that there would be no reconciliation at the expense of Palestinian constants, stressing that this Movement wanted to organize the Palestinian home within the PLO and the PA in accordance with democratic rules and free elections.[He is still sticking with the PA; utterly hopeless! Any hope of real change coming from Hamas is simply an illusion.]
The reconciliation project is still there but suitable mechanism and timing were being discussed for concluding it, Mishaal elaborated.

"EAST JERUSALEM, Oct 11 (IPS) - Clashes between Israeli security forces and protesting Palestinians have subsided as several hundred Muslims agreed to evacuate Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque following a deal brokered by the Jordanian Embassy in Tel Aviv Saturday.
But the Islamic Movement, whose members sought to take over the mosque, is at the centre of intense controversy. In Israel demands have risen for the arrest of Islamic Movement leader Sheikh Raed Salah.
Israeli police accuse Salah of waging a "religious war" and say he is guilty of "incitement and sedition"......
Muslim fears around Al-Aqsa mosque are based on Israeli efforts to Judaise East Jerusalem in order to keep the city under eternal Israeli sovereignty, thereby preventing the eastern sector becoming the capital of a future Palestinian state. Al-Aqsa Mosque is a part of East Jerusalem.
In an interview with IPS shortly before he was arrested and banned from Jerusalem for 30 days, Sheikh Raed Salah said that Israeli authorities had earlier informed some of his colleagues that the mosque would be divided.
The Israelis reportedly said that only the mosque itself was considered a Muslim site but that the other buildings in the compound and the other areas were public property and would fall under Israeli control.
"This is a red line. We will not allow the Israelis to take over the Haram compound. If we have to choose between martyrdom and losing the Haram, we choose the former," Salah told IPS........"

But some of the possible concessions Israel had reportedly been considering, such as approving a second mobile-phone network in the West Bank or plans to build a new Palestinian city north of Ramallah, would now likely only do further damage, Palestinian government spokesman Ghassan Khatib said.
"This will be the kiss of death for Abbas," Khatib said.

ونعرف أن عباس لن يستقيل، فأمره ليس في يده، ولا يستطيع أن يستقيل بغير أمر مباشر من الأمريكيين والإسرائيليين، وهم يريدونه أن يبقى، فلا أحد من قادة الشعب الفلسطيني يملك أن يخدمهم بأكثر مما يفعل عباس، وقد سيطروا عليه تماما بلغة السياسة وبلغة المخابرات، فقوات عباس في الضفة الغربية تحت إمرة الجنرال الأمريكي دايتون، وأعوان عباس الكبار 'جماعة إسرائيلية' بالمعنى الحرفي، وقد فضحت الصحافة الإسرائيلية عباس، وجردته تماما من كل معنى فلسطيني، والأخطر ما جرى من إذلال علني لعباس نفسه، والتهديد بإذاعة شريط فيديو لعباس مع الجنرال باراك وزير الدفاع الإسرائيلي، وفيه يطلب عباس ـ بإلحاح ـ أن تواصل إسرائيل الحرب على غزة، وحتى إفنائها بالكامل، وإسقاط سلطة حماس، وشريط فيديو آخر لاحد رجال عباس، وهو يطلب من معاون لباراك اقتحام مخيمات غزة، وقتل جميع سكانها لأنهم انتخبوا حماس، ولم يجرؤ عباس ـ بالطبع ـ أن يتحدى الإسرائيليين، ولا أن يطالبهم بالكشف عن أشرطة الفيديو المشار إليها في صحيفة 'معاريف'، فهو يعلم ـ على ما يبدو ـ أنها الحقيقة، وإن لم يتوقع أن يصور الإسرائيليون جريمته، والواقعة أبشع من محضر الاجتماع الذي كشف عنه فاروق القدومي قبيل مؤتمر فتح الأخير، والذي يوحي بتورط عباس في حث الإسرائيليين ـ زمن حكومة شارون ـ على ارتكاب جريمة اغتيال الرئيس عرفات بالسم البطيء .
وقد وصلت الفضيحة إلى غايتها بتنصل كل الأطراف من فعلة عباس، عمرو موسى ـ أمين الجامعة العربية ـ استنكر بشدة تورط سلطة عباس، وحتى الحكومة المصرية ـ حليفة عباس الأولى ـ تبرأت من تصرفه، وإحسان أوغلو ـ أمين منظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي ـ ألقى باللوم على سلطة عباس، والتي أضاعت فرصة سانحة لإدانة إسرائيل دوليا، والتمهيد لمحاكمة قادتها بتهم ارتكاب جرائم حرب وجرائم ضد الإنسانية رصدها تقرير القاضي غولدستون، وقد كان ذلك ممكنا بسهولة في خرائط تصويت المجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان بجنيف، وكان ممكنا أن نضغط بقرار دولي على مجلس الأمن، وهو ما لا يمكن الحصول عليه بتطوع ليبيا بطلب عرض تقرير غولدستون على مجلس الأمن مباشرة، وحيث الفيتو ـ الأمريكي والبريطاني والفرنسي ـ جاهز لوأد أية إجراءات، وهو ما يكشف عبث المناورة التي أقدم عليها عباس، وتظاهره بالذهاب إلى مجلس الأمن سترا لفضيحته، فقد ضاعت الفرصة الذهبية بخضوع عباس للأمر الإسرائيلي المباشر، وهو ما كان موضع استنكار واحتقار حتى من ريتشارد فولك المقرر الدولي الخاص لحقوق الإنسان الفلسطيني، والرجل ـ بالمناسبة ـ أمريكي ويهودي، ورأى أن عباس قايض على حقوق ومصالح وعذاب الشعب الفلسطيني، ومقابل مصلحة شخصية.
ونتصور أنه لم تعد من قيمة ـ بعد ما جرى ـ لاتفاق المصالحة الذي أعدته القاهرة، ولا للتوقيع عليه من عباس وحماس إن جرى، فلم نعد ـ بعد كل ما تكشف ـ بصدد انقسام وطني فلسطيني، بل بصدد طرف خان الشعب الفلسطيني وباع دمه، والمصالحة معه صارت في وضع الخيانة هي الأخرى، والتطورات على الأرض تجعل التفاهم مستحيلا، وحتى لو جرى توقيع ألف اتفاق، فأغلبية حماس في المجلس التشريعي طلبت عزل عباس ومحاكمته، وأهالي الضحايا والشهداء الفلسطينيين بدأوا في إجراءات محاكمة عباس دوليا كمجرم حرب شريك للإسرائيليين، ولم يعد لوجود عباس أي معنى فلسطيني، فقد انتهت ولايته إجرائيا وانتخابيا منذ أوائل العام 2009، ثم أن وجوده على رأس حركة 'فتح' يصمها بالعمالة للإسرائيليين، ويهدر شرعيتها التاريخية، فلم تعد من جماعة فلسطينية واحدة، لا في حماس ولا في الجهاد الإسلامي، ولا في الجبهة الشعبية ولا في الجبهة الديمقراطية ولا في المبادرة الوطنية، ولا في منظمات الداخل والخارج الفلسطيني، لم يعد هناك من جهة فلسطينية ذات شأن ـ كبر أم صغر ـ تخلفت عن إدانة عباس ووصفه بأقسى النعوت، لم يعد هناك من حركة حجبت رأيها سوى حركة فتح، والتي قدمت طوال تاريخها عشرات الألوف من الشهداء والأسرى، وانتهت قيادتها إلى بؤس مطلق، وسيطر عليها عباس وتآمر على تضحياتها الجليلة، وجعل من نفسه عبدا مطيعا لإرادة نتنياهو، ويستمتع الإسرائيليون بإذلاله، وإلى حد أن جورج ميتشل ـ مبعوث أوباما ـ طلب من الإسرائيليين تقديم أي شيء لحفظ ماء وجه عباس، وامتنعت الحكومة الإسرائيلية، فقد أصبح عباس أسيرا لرغباتها بلا ثمن، وأصبح وضع سلطته شبيها بوضع جمهورية سعد حداد المقبورة في الجنوب اللبناني، والتي حاربت مع قوات الجيش الإسرائيلي ضد المقاومة اللبنانية، وإلى أن خرجت قوات الجيش الإسرائيلي ذليلة مدحورة من الجنوب، وأخذت معها خلفاء ورجال سعد حداد كلاجئين إلى إسرائيل، وهو ذات المصير الذي ينتظر جمهورية عباس، والذي خرج عنه بعض معاونيه كنبيل عمرو القيادي بحركة فتح، واتهم عباس بمسؤوليته وحده عن الموافقة على طلب تأجيل نظر تقرير غولدستون، وسخر من حكاية 'لجنة التحقيق' التي أمر عباس بتشكيلها في تحايل عبثي مكشوف.
وقد يصح أن نطالب الشرفاء في حركة فتح بأن يتحركوا، وأن يزيحوا وصمة عباس من تاريخ حركتهم، وأن يغسلوا العار الذي لحق باسمهم، أن يقيلوا عباس، أو أن يعلنوا براءتهم من أفعاله وجرائم أعوانه، فهذا وحده السبيل لإنقاذ ما تبقى من مستقبل لحركة الرصاصة الفلسطينية الأولى، وإلا حق فيهم حكم التاريخ، وانتهوا إلى اللعنة وسوء الخواتيم، فكيف يكون عباس 'فتحاويا' وبأي معنى؟، بينما دستور فتح ونظامها الأساسي ينص على الثورة الشعبية المسلحة، وعلى تحرير فلسطين من النهر إلى البحر، وعلى مقاومة وإسقاط أي اتفاق أو قرار دولي ينتقص من حق الفلسطينيين في كامل التراب الفلسطيني، بينما عباس ضد المقاومة بالسلاح، وضد أي انتفاضة أو تحرك جماهيري فعال لإزاحة الاحتلال، ويعتقل المقاومين بالمئات وبالآلاف، ويواصل اتصالاته بالإسرائيليين رغم اعتداءاتهم البشعة المتكررة على المسجد الأقصى، ونشر قطعان اليهود المتطرفين في باحة الأقصى، وشن الحرب على الفلسطينيين المقدسيين، وعلى الفلسطينيين من عرب 48، وعلى الحركة الإسلامية وعميدها الشيخ رائد صلاح، وعباس في شغل عن ذلك كله، فهو مأمور بطاعة الإسرائيليين فيما يريدون، وإذا كان ـ هذه المرة ـ قد أنقذ إسرائيل من تقرير إدانة دولي، فما الذي يمنع من توقع كوارث أكبر إذا بقي عباس، ومن نوع التفريط في القدس وحق عودة اللاحئين الفلسطينيين بالتأكيد، والموافقة الضمنية على توحش الاستيطان اليهودي في الضفة الغربية، وعلى الحصار القاتل لأهل غزة، والتورط في حث الإسرائيليين على شن حرب جديدة تحرق اليابس بعد دمار الأخضر في غزة، فقد أصبح عباس في وضع بالغ التردي، وصارت طاعة إسرائيل عنده أوجب وأجل من طاعة الله.

وقد وصلت الفضيحة إلى غايتها بتنصل كل الأطراف من فعلة عباس، عمرو موسى ـ أمين الجامعة العربية ـ استنكر بشدة تورط سلطة عباس، وحتى الحكومة المصرية ـ حليفة عباس الأولى ـ تبرأت من تصرفه، وإحسان أوغلو ـ أمين منظمة المؤتمر الإسلامي ـ ألقى باللوم على سلطة عباس، والتي أضاعت فرصة سانحة لإدانة إسرائيل دوليا، والتمهيد لمحاكمة قادتها بتهم ارتكاب جرائم حرب وجرائم ضد الإنسانية رصدها تقرير القاضي غولدستون، وقد كان ذلك ممكنا بسهولة في خرائط تصويت المجلس الدولي لحقوق الإنسان بجنيف، وكان ممكنا أن نضغط بقرار دولي على مجلس الأمن، وهو ما لا يمكن الحصول عليه بتطوع ليبيا بطلب عرض تقرير غولدستون على مجلس الأمن مباشرة، وحيث الفيتو ـ الأمريكي والبريطاني والفرنسي ـ جاهز لوأد أية إجراءات، وهو ما يكشف عبث المناورة التي أقدم عليها عباس، وتظاهره بالذهاب إلى مجلس الأمن سترا لفضيحته، فقد ضاعت الفرصة الذهبية بخضوع عباس للأمر الإسرائيلي المباشر، وهو ما كان موضع استنكار واحتقار حتى من ريتشارد فولك المقرر الدولي الخاص لحقوق الإنسان الفلسطيني، والرجل ـ بالمناسبة ـ أمريكي ويهودي، ورأى أن عباس قايض على حقوق ومصالح وعذاب الشعب الفلسطيني، ومقابل مصلحة شخصية.
ونتصور أنه لم تعد من قيمة ـ بعد ما جرى ـ لاتفاق المصالحة الذي أعدته القاهرة، ولا للتوقيع عليه من عباس وحماس إن جرى، فلم نعد ـ بعد كل ما تكشف ـ بصدد انقسام وطني فلسطيني، بل بصدد طرف خان الشعب الفلسطيني وباع دمه، والمصالحة معه صارت في وضع الخيانة هي الأخرى، والتطورات على الأرض تجعل التفاهم مستحيلا، وحتى لو جرى توقيع ألف اتفاق، فأغلبية حماس في المجلس التشريعي طلبت عزل عباس ومحاكمته، وأهالي الضحايا والشهداء الفلسطينيين بدأوا في إجراءات محاكمة عباس دوليا كمجرم حرب شريك للإسرائيليين، ولم يعد لوجود عباس أي معنى فلسطيني، فقد انتهت ولايته إجرائيا وانتخابيا منذ أوائل العام 2009، ثم أن وجوده على رأس حركة 'فتح' يصمها بالعمالة للإسرائيليين، ويهدر شرعيتها التاريخية، فلم تعد من جماعة فلسطينية واحدة، لا في حماس ولا في الجهاد الإسلامي، ولا في الجبهة الشعبية ولا في الجبهة الديمقراطية ولا في المبادرة الوطنية، ولا في منظمات الداخل والخارج الفلسطيني، لم يعد هناك من جهة فلسطينية ذات شأن ـ كبر أم صغر ـ تخلفت عن إدانة عباس ووصفه بأقسى النعوت، لم يعد هناك من حركة حجبت رأيها سوى حركة فتح، والتي قدمت طوال تاريخها عشرات الألوف من الشهداء والأسرى، وانتهت قيادتها إلى بؤس مطلق، وسيطر عليها عباس وتآمر على تضحياتها الجليلة، وجعل من نفسه عبدا مطيعا لإرادة نتنياهو، ويستمتع الإسرائيليون بإذلاله، وإلى حد أن جورج ميتشل ـ مبعوث أوباما ـ طلب من الإسرائيليين تقديم أي شيء لحفظ ماء وجه عباس، وامتنعت الحكومة الإسرائيلية، فقد أصبح عباس أسيرا لرغباتها بلا ثمن، وأصبح وضع سلطته شبيها بوضع جمهورية سعد حداد المقبورة في الجنوب اللبناني، والتي حاربت مع قوات الجيش الإسرائيلي ضد المقاومة اللبنانية، وإلى أن خرجت قوات الجيش الإسرائيلي ذليلة مدحورة من الجنوب، وأخذت معها خلفاء ورجال سعد حداد كلاجئين إلى إسرائيل، وهو ذات المصير الذي ينتظر جمهورية عباس، والذي خرج عنه بعض معاونيه كنبيل عمرو القيادي بحركة فتح، واتهم عباس بمسؤوليته وحده عن الموافقة على طلب تأجيل نظر تقرير غولدستون، وسخر من حكاية 'لجنة التحقيق' التي أمر عباس بتشكيلها في تحايل عبثي مكشوف.
وقد يصح أن نطالب الشرفاء في حركة فتح بأن يتحركوا، وأن يزيحوا وصمة عباس من تاريخ حركتهم، وأن يغسلوا العار الذي لحق باسمهم، أن يقيلوا عباس، أو أن يعلنوا براءتهم من أفعاله وجرائم أعوانه، فهذا وحده السبيل لإنقاذ ما تبقى من مستقبل لحركة الرصاصة الفلسطينية الأولى، وإلا حق فيهم حكم التاريخ، وانتهوا إلى اللعنة وسوء الخواتيم، فكيف يكون عباس 'فتحاويا' وبأي معنى؟، بينما دستور فتح ونظامها الأساسي ينص على الثورة الشعبية المسلحة، وعلى تحرير فلسطين من النهر إلى البحر، وعلى مقاومة وإسقاط أي اتفاق أو قرار دولي ينتقص من حق الفلسطينيين في كامل التراب الفلسطيني، بينما عباس ضد المقاومة بالسلاح، وضد أي انتفاضة أو تحرك جماهيري فعال لإزاحة الاحتلال، ويعتقل المقاومين بالمئات وبالآلاف، ويواصل اتصالاته بالإسرائيليين رغم اعتداءاتهم البشعة المتكررة على المسجد الأقصى، ونشر قطعان اليهود المتطرفين في باحة الأقصى، وشن الحرب على الفلسطينيين المقدسيين، وعلى الفلسطينيين من عرب 48، وعلى الحركة الإسلامية وعميدها الشيخ رائد صلاح، وعباس في شغل عن ذلك كله، فهو مأمور بطاعة الإسرائيليين فيما يريدون، وإذا كان ـ هذه المرة ـ قد أنقذ إسرائيل من تقرير إدانة دولي، فما الذي يمنع من توقع كوارث أكبر إذا بقي عباس، ومن نوع التفريط في القدس وحق عودة اللاحئين الفلسطينيين بالتأكيد، والموافقة الضمنية على توحش الاستيطان اليهودي في الضفة الغربية، وعلى الحصار القاتل لأهل غزة، والتورط في حث الإسرائيليين على شن حرب جديدة تحرق اليابس بعد دمار الأخضر في غزة، فقد أصبح عباس في وضع بالغ التردي، وصارت طاعة إسرائيل عنده أوجب وأجل من طاعة الله.
لقد انتهى عباس معنويا، وتحول إلى وزير في الحكومة الإسرائيلية وليس رئيسا لفلسطين

So according to this member of the political bureau of Hamas, Hamas is primarily concerned about the timing of signing the deal with the traitor, not the terms and conditions of the deal. He said that what he called Abbas-Gate (cute...), and the resulting popular Palestinian anger, is such that it is hard for Hamas to be seen signing a deal with him NOW. Time needs to pass (with no real change in what has already been agreed upon).
Now, here are the tough demands from Hamas:
The traitor should apologize!.....All will be forgiven!
He should take steps (what steps?) to "correct the sins" he has committed!
Then all will be forgotten and A NEW DATE will be set to sign the deal WITH HIM.
Man, this is great news; the Palestinians should celebrate in the streets!

A third interpretation could not be ruled out. For Obama to move forward with his vehemently pursued plan to resume the Palestinian – Israeli talks, he might have found it easier to further weaken Abbas into dropping his proclaimed conditions for going along with the resumption of talks after Obama’s efforts failed to bring Netanyahu to toe his line on freezing the expansion of Israel’s colonial settlement enterprise in the Israeli – occupied Palestinian territories in the West Bank of River Jordan......."

His special envoy is bluntly told by the Israelis that an Arab-Israel peace will take "many years". Now he wants the Palestinians to talk peace to Israel without conditions. He put pressure on the Palestinian leader to throw away the opportunity of international scrutiny of UN Judge Goldstone's damning indictment of Israeli war crimes in Gaza while his Assistant Secretary of State said that the Goldstone report was "seriously flawed". After breaking his pre-election promise to call the 1915 Armenian massacres by Ottoman Turkey a genocide, he has urged the Armenians to sign a treaty with Turkey, again "without pre-conditions". His army is still facing an insurgency in Iraq. He cannot decide how to win "his" war in Afghanistan. I shall not mention Iran.
And now President Barack Obama has just won the Nobel Peace Prize. After only eight months in office. Not bad. No wonder he said he was "humbled" when told the news. He should have felt humiliated. But perhaps weakness becomes a Nobel Peace Prize winner. Shimon Peres won it, too, and he never won an Israeli election. Yasser Arafat won it. And look what happened to him. For the first time in history, the Norwegian Nobel committee awarded its peace prize to a man who has achieved nothing – in the faint hope that he will do something good in the future. That's how bad things are. That's how explosive the Middle East has become........
So Israel is getting away with it as usual, abusing the distinguished (and Jewish) head of the UN inquiry into Gaza war crimes – which also blamed Hamas – while joining the Americans in further disgracing the craven Palestinian Authority "President" Mahmoud Abbas, who is more interested in maintaining his relations with Washington than with his own Palestinian people. He's even gone back on his word to refuse peace talks until Israel's colonial expansion comes to an end. In a single devastating sentence, that usually mild Jordanian commentator Rami Khouri noted last week that Mr Abbas is "a tragic shell of a man, hollow, politically impotent, backed and respected by nobody".......
If the Israelis attack, they may leave Israel alone. They have a plan, I'm told, to target instead only US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and their bases in the Gulf and their warships cruising through Hormuz. They would leave Israel alone. Americans would then learn the price of kneeling before their Israeli masters.......
But, please, no attacks on 10 December. That's when Barack Obama turns up in Oslo to pocket his peace prize – for achievements he has not yet achieved and for dreams that will turn into nightmares."

So Israel is getting away with it as usual, abusing the distinguished (and Jewish) head of the UN inquiry into Gaza war crimes – which also blamed Hamas – while joining the Americans in further disgracing the craven Palestinian Authority "President" Mahmoud Abbas, who is more interested in maintaining his relations with Washington than with his own Palestinian people. He's even gone back on his word to refuse peace talks until Israel's colonial expansion comes to an end. In a single devastating sentence, that usually mild Jordanian commentator Rami Khouri noted last week that Mr Abbas is "a tragic shell of a man, hollow, politically impotent, backed and respected by nobody".......
If the Israelis attack, they may leave Israel alone. They have a plan, I'm told, to target instead only US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan, and their bases in the Gulf and their warships cruising through Hormuz. They would leave Israel alone. Americans would then learn the price of kneeling before their Israeli masters.......
But, please, no attacks on 10 December. That's when Barack Obama turns up in Oslo to pocket his peace prize – for achievements he has not yet achieved and for dreams that will turn into nightmares."
