The Pharaoh in the Service of Zion: Participants of the Hope Convoy protest at the Rafah terminal

"Participants of the Hope Convoy carrying humanitarian and medical aid to the Gaza Strip decided to protest at the Rafah Border terminal, between the Gaza Strip and Egypt, demanding the Egyptian Authorities to allow them to enter Gaza.

Rami Abdo, coordinator of the European Campaign to end the Siege, stated on Monday that the activists of the aid convoy are determined to cross into the Gaza Strip in order o deliver the humanitarian supplies, mainly meant to help the disabled and the sick.

Abdo added that more than 100 activists spent more than two months preparing for the convoy, and that physicians and reconstruction experts are onboard the Hope convoy, and that they are all determined to cross into Gaza....

He further said that after the passports of the participants were stamped by the Egyptian Authorities, and they were all ready to head to Gaza, they were instructed that only 16 of them would be allowed into the Gaza Strip.

But the convoy contains nearly 40 middle-sized aid trucks, and twelve ambulances filled with medical equipment to persons with special needs.

There are nearly 160 activists participating in the convoy, including Italian Senator Fernando Rossi, and twelve parliamentarians from Italy, Greece, Switzerland, Ireland and Britain."
