"OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Palestinian civil societies warned that the IOA issued demolition orders against hundreds of Palestinian homes in occupied Jerusalem at the pretext of unlicensed construction, calling for necessarily confronting this campaign publicly and legally because it is aimed at destroying the Palestinian presence and social fabric in the holy city.
The warning was voiced during an emergency meeting for the owners of houses threatened with demolition in the Isawiya town held by the Isawiya charitable society and the Makdessi development foundation in the presence of 32 home owners whose homes are threatened with demolition.
Sheikh Riyadh Al-Isawi, the head of the charitable society, stressed the gravity of neglecting what is happening in Jerusalem, pointing out that a press conference will be held soon with the participation of all popular and official forces to confront this Zionist campaign.
Sheikh Isawi also warned the Jerusalemites of falling into the trap of the Israeli municipality which aims to dislodge them and Judaize Jerusalem.
For his part, Mu'ad Al-Zaatari, the director of the Makdessi foundation, said that the foundation adopted the defense of citizens whose homes are to be demolished, adding the issue will be activated at all levels legally, politically, publically and through media."
