Next Hamas will recognize Israel (obliquely of course) and accept all the conditions of the Quartet (while denying that). It will still talk about the RIGHT of resistance while preventing any real resistance. All this for the sake of "national unity" and to get a seat at the "negotiating" table with Israel.
Hamas, Abbas and Israel are now partners in maintaining the status quo and keeping the charade of peace and negotiations going.
No problem, 20 more years with Hamas at the negotiating table, and nothing will be left of Palestine to negotiate about. But, hey the Palestinians will be united, in failure that is.
