Hamas MP, Jihad leader describe killers of the children as traitors, agents

"Gaza - Hamas MP Ismail Al-Ashkar on Monday described as "traitors" the culprits who killed three Palestinian children in Gaza city earlier today and added that they were members of a fifth column.

Ashkar in a press release said that such incidents never served the goals of any political party in the Palestinian arena but only benefited the Israeli occupation.

He urged the PA interior minister, Sa'eed Siyam, to accelerate investigation into the heinous crime that led to the murder of the three children and their driver at the hands of unknown gunmen.

For his part, Khaled Al-Batesh, one of the Islamic Jihad leaders in the Strip, described the killers as "agents" who advance personal interests above those of the country.

He said that the perpetrators could never be resistance elements but rather are elements of occupation who wish to turn the battle against occupation into an internal one and help the enemy.

He urged the PA chief, the PA premier and Siyam to prosecute the murderers and to execute them before the public eyes to serve as deterrence for others.

In another development, PA reliable security sources charged Fatah spokesman Tawfik Abu Khosa with masterminding the rioting in Gaza Streets on Saturday that were carried out by a number of PA security elements.

The sources said that Abu Khosa, who was the PA interior ministry spokesman during the reign of the former Fatah-controlled PA government, issued strict orders to Fatah members working with the security apparatuses to join the unruly demonstration."
