Rebels Execute Shabeeha in Aleppo

[No matter how brutal the shabeeha were and how criminal they acted , executing them like that is unacceptable and hurts the cause more than it helps]

These shabiha absolutely got what they deserve. Syria is a cleaner place today!

I am saying they should get what they deserve according to the law , they have to answer for their crimes but executing them like that does more damage than good. We are fighting shabeeha and don't want to become shabeeha

I see the point in the above two comments. I am of mixed opinion on the subject.

Zarathustra:

You said, "...should get what they deserve according to the law." But what law, and whose law?

When you are in the midst of a revolutionary uprising, sometimes you do not have the luxury to detain captives in order to try them later. That becomes a security burden and a drag on the revolutionaries.

In the midst of wars, war criminals are often shot on the spot if they are caught. That ideal situation you mentioned is a luxury not always possible.

One last point: there is no symmetry between these shabeeha and their innocent victims whom they have slaughtered. In any legal system these killers deserve death. The details of convicting them are niceties which are not always practical.

I agree with Tony. At least they didn't skin them or burn them alive, or rape their daughters or wives, or stab their children in the heads with knives. F#@k them and may they burn in hell.

I agree, and that is why I said I have mixed opinion.
