Gaza's de facto government demolishes part of prison captured from Fatah
"Gaza – Ma'an – The de facto government of the Gaza Strip and the Hamas-affiliated Executive Force demolished a bloc of six prison cells at the central prison in Gaza City on Sunday.
The Hamas government said it destroyed the cells under the slogan "no more tyranny", to demonstrate Hamas' commitment to political freedom in the Gaza Strip. Hamas' forces took over the Saraya security service compound, where the prison is located, from Fatah's forces during fighting in June. He said the cells were 'old and inappropriate.'
The manager of the prison, Ali Humaid said, "The removal of the old cells was not meant to be decorative, yet it was a removal of what was contradictory to human dignity and law." "
