Political prisoner transferred to hospital in Nablus
"Palestinian sources reported that a political prisoner detained at a Palestinian prison since more than seven months, was transferred to a hospital in the northern West Bank city of Nablus, after being subjected to torture in Jneid prison.
The detainee was identified as Samih Aleiwi, 45. His family said that on Monday, he was moved to the Intensive Care unit at the National Hospital in Nablus, after he was tortured in prison. The family added that they were not allowed to visit him at the hospital, and that security personnel even assaulted his son, Mutasem, before forcing the family out of the hospital. The family also said that Samih was transferred to hospital seven times due to his poor health condition and torture.
He owned a Jewelry store that was shut down by Palestinian security forces after confiscating its contents.
In related news, P.A security forces arrested a pharmacist identified as Omar Al Hanbali directly after he was release from an Israeli prison on Monday. Al Hanbaly was arrested Laban village, east of the northern West Bank city of Nablus. The village is under Israeli security control, but Palestinian security forces were allowed into the village, local sources reported.
The family of Al Hanbaly added that the security forces arrested the wife of Omar to pressure him to turn himself in.
The security forces also arrested Mohammad Halaiqa, from Al Shiokh village the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
His family stated that he works in Israel and that he was arrested as he returned to his village to get married....... "
