Celebrate! The Crook Is Back!

The same old crook (Salam Fayad) "accepts" position of "finance minister" in "unity government" "offered" to him by Habila. Who is Hamas kidding? Fayad was dictated by Washington and KSA and Hamas had to swallow hard, and it was Hamas that was forced to accept him. With the purse strings in the hands of the same old crooks, nothing will change, except the slogans. But let us not spoil the mood; let the celebrations continue!

Just wait! Save some celebrations for the other important positions which Habila will "offer" to other crooks: Foreign affairs, interior, etc. I am sure that they will "accept" since they have been dictated already. But please save the biggest celebration for.....(drum roll please)....the position of Deputy Prime Minister. I have a sneaky suspicion that Habila will "offer" that position to our "brother" Mohammad Pinochet Dahlan. Don't ask me how I knew that; I have my sources. I have a hunch that brother Pinochet will accept. Man, that will be an occasion to celebrate! Hell, that would call for torching a few buildings, perhaps including the "parliament" building! That would be a sight. Habila and Pinochet, hand-in-hand and beaming with victory signs, with the parliament building ablaze behind them, and the band playing "Celebrate!".

وقد وصف اللقاء الذي جمعه صباح اليوم برئيس الوزراء إسماعيل هنية في غزة بالجيد والإيجابي. وقال إنه تم بحث موضوع تشكيل الحكومة، معرباً عن أمله بتسريع تشكيل الحكومة للتعامل مع المهام التي سيتم مواجهتها الفترة المقبلة.

من جانبه؛ أكد خليل الحية، رئيس كتلة "التغيير والإصلاح" التابعة لحركة المقاومة الإسلامية "حماس"، وهي أكبر كتلة برلمانية، تصريحات فياض، بشأن قبول حقيبة المالية، مثمناً قبوله في هذا المنصب. "

قال إسماعيل هنية رئيس الوزراء الفلسطيني إن كثرة عدد المصلين وعدم قدرة المساجد على استيعابهم؛ يؤكد وجود صحوة إسلامية عارمة في قطاع غزة، لافتًا إلى أن وزارة الأوقاف ودار القرآن الكريم والسنة ستخرِّج هذا العام أكثر من عشرة آلاف حافظ وحافظة للقرآن الكريم.

وأكد أن الصحوة الإسلامية العارمة ردٌّ على من تآمر على الشعب الفلسطيني وحاصره لينفضَّ الناس عن دينهم ومشروع المقاومة والمساجد، مشيرًا إلى أن الناس بعد الحصار والتضييق باتوا أكثر قربًا من الله؛ على عكس ما أراد المتآمرون.

وأوضح أن الناس أصبحوا يصلون في العراء؛ نتيجةً لعدم اتساع المساجد وتدمير الاحتلال الصهيوني لها خلال الحرب الأخيرة على قطاع غزة، لافتًا إلى أن الغزيِّين ردُّوا على الاحتلال ببناء السرادقات مكان المساجد ليصلُّوا فيها، لافتًا إلى الفرق بين مساجد الدول العربية الواسعة والمكيَّفة ومساجد قطاع غزة، التي تعاني من الارتفاع الشديد في درجة الحرارة وضيق مساحتها؛ الأمر الذي يدفع المصلين إلى الصلاة في العراء.

وأشار إلى أن وزارة الأوقاف والشؤون الدينية عاجزةٌ عن تلبية احتياجات المساجد من كهرباء وخدمات؛ نتيجة الحصار، وقلة الدعم المالي الموجَّه إليها، داعيًا الشعوب العربية والإسلامية إلى دعم صمود الشعب الفلسطيني.

Dream on Habila! Your "Umma" does not give a fig about the Palestinians, Jerusalem, or Al-Aqsa mosque.

Haneyya: Security plan to protect resistance

"Ismail Haneyya, the PA premier, on Friday announced that the security plan endorsed by his cabinet almost a week ago would protect the Palestinian resistance.

Haneyya, addressing the Friday congregation in Omari mosque in Jabalia to the north of the Gaza Strip, said that the security plan would not harm resistance.

"The plan is not like past ones, rather it will end (security) chaos" while preserving resistance, the premier asserted.

He explained that the plan was designed to end the security mess and to check the unruly families and gangs in addition to thwarting attacks on citizens' property......"

A Comment:

What is he talking about? He must think that we are all stupid and uninformed, like him. The reality is that the "security forces" are under the Usraeli stooge Abbas. These forces are being expanded, trained and armed with direct aid from the U.S., Jordan and Egypt, among others, with Israeli support. We also know that "security coordination" meetings are taking place regularly between Abbas' people, the Israelis, the Egyptians and the chief coordinator and the man who is the real boss of the Palestinian "forces" and that is the American Keith Dayton. The purpose of the "security" plan, as announced by Abbas, is to deploy forces along the Gaza borders to prevent "arms smuggling" from Egypt and to prevent the Palestinian resistance from carrying out any attacks. After the expansion of these forces, the Usraeli plan, to which Abbas is committed, is to disarm the resistance by force.

These are the facts, which we are well aware of. So why does Habila continue to deceive and lie about the "security" plan protecting the resistance? The fact is that this plan is to end the resistance. This Orwellian upside down world of Habila is a direct result of the major contradictions of Hamas (which is supposed to be a resistance movement) forming a partnership with an Usraeli agent such as Abbas, who makes no secret of his plans to end the resistance and to keep his role as Usrael's chief hire-a-cop.

This Habila belongs in a mental institution and not in "government." If Hamas decides to become a resistance movement again (which I doubt), the first act to restore some of its lost credibility is to pull out of this sham "government" and to insist on dissolving the PA, otherwise it should be considered as an extension of the occupation and dealt with accordingly.

What is going on here?

Habila's close adviser (Ahmad Yousef) has mocked the launching of Qassam rockets, in pretty much the same fashion as the puppet Abbas. He said that they are pretty useless and you can't fight Israel since it has much more advanced weapons. He said that firing Qassams is just sending a political message!!!

Has Habila abandoned Hamas? Is fear of being killed in an Israeli air strike (today Israel fired a rocket at a shed next to his house) the reason for such statement? Or is it the spirit of "unity" that has finally caught the imagination of Mr. Yousef.

I have never trusted this Yousef character and I still maintain that he is a U.S. operative. It has become very embarrassing for Hamas; does Habila still speak for it, or has he joined Dahlan and company? As they say, the specter of possible death concentrates the mind, but to this extent?

وزاد المستشار يوسف انه لا يمكن المقارنة بين العصا والسيف، فنحن نحمل العصا، والاسرائيليون يحملون السيف، ونحن نعلم ان اسرائيل تتفوق علينا من ناحية الاسلحة ومن ناحية التطور التكنولوجي، لانها دولة تملك الكثير مما نملكه نحن، ابناء الشعب العربي الفلسطيني .

"GAZA, (PIC)-- The Palestinian Prime Minister, Ismail Haneyya, told a delegation of Egyptian businessmen on Monday that there are no longer centres of political and economic power in Gaza making the atmosphere favourable for investment, stressing that his government does not interfere in private investment. [This is so surreal, that it is hard to find words to describe this Habila.]

He met with the delegation in the presence of his deputy and the Minister of economy Ziad al-Zaza, the general secretary of the council of ministers Muhammad Awad, the head of land authority, Faris Abu Muammar and the head of the government information office Hasan Abu Hashish.

He welcomed the delegation and expressed his appreciation for their efforts against the challenges facing the Palestinian people and said that his government provided all the necessary administrative, security and legal facilities to help investment companies succeed in their task.

Haneyya told the delegation that his government does not interfere in the private sector, nor acts as a partner to investors.

He welcomed all companies that want to work legally and responsibly to rebuild the Gaza Strip and promised that his government will facilitate their work......."

For Habila to visit Jordan now and for Ahmad Yousef to praise Jordan and its support is a stab in the back of every Palestinian. Is there any doubt left that Hamas, in reality, has been seriously compromised? What next, Mr. Yousef? Are you making arrangement for Habila to address the Knesset soon? This man (Yousef) is very dangerous and his American ties should not be underestimated.

"Bethlehem - Ma'an – The Palestinian prime minister's political advisor, Ahmad Yousef, has announced that preparations are being made for Haniyeh to go on an extensive tour.

The tour will include many Arab and Asian countries, as well as Jordan, Yousef said. Speaking to the Jordanian daily, al-Ghad, Yousef also said that consultations are ongoing to decide which countries the tour will include. The tour will start at the beginning of next month.

"GAZA, (PIC)-- Palestinian premier Ismail Haneyya has said that his government would never allow the return of security chaos to the Gaza Strip [Sure! That is why UNRWA summer camps for the children were burned, not once, but twice! ادعت صحيفة "يديعوت احرونوت"، اليوم، إستناداً لمصادر وصفتها بالأميركية أن رئيس الحكومة الفلسطينية المقالة، اسماعيل، ان الإدارة الأميركية تجاهلت تماماً رسالتين من رئيس الحكومة الفلسطينية المقالة، اسماعيل هنية، تطرف فيها إلى الأوضاع السياسية الراهنة وافاق الحل.

وحسب مصادر الصحيفة الذين وصفتهم بالموظفين الكبار في الإدارة الأميركية فإن رهينة بعث برسالتين سياسيتين للرئيس الأميركي، باراك أوباما، بحثت "القضايا السياسية الإقليمية" وشملت مقترحات للحل والتسوية في الشرق الأوسط. وادعت الصحيفة ان هنية كتب في رسالته لأوباما إن حركة المقاومة الإسلامية (حماس) مستعدة بشروط معينة الإعتراف بحدود 1967، كجزء من تسوية إقليمية مرحلية تشمل وقف اطلاق النار بين اسرائيل والفلسطينيين.

"أكد رئيس الوزراء الفلسطيني إسماعيل هنية أن حفظة كتاب الله تعالى هم الأحق بقيادة الشعب الفلسطيني؛ لأنهم يشكلون سور الحماية والوقاية له من كل ما يخطط له أعداؤه، مشددًا على أن القرآن يمس كل شيء في حياة الإنسان؛ ابتداءً من الأمن والسياسة والاقتصاد والحرب، وانتهاءً بالسلم والتهدئة والتصعيد؛ فهو النبراس الذي يتم السير عليه.

ودعا هنية إلى الاستمرار على هذا الطريق والمنهج بعض النظر عن أي عواقب تعترضه، قائلاً: "نحن نريد أن نصل بقطاع غزة إلى اللحظة التي نستطيع أن نسمِّيَه فيها "قطاع حفظة القرآن"؛ وذلك للانطلاق نحو تحرير القدس".

ونوَّه أن "أمن البلد وأمن المقاومة والقيادات مرتبط بالقرآن؛ فهو حجاب من الزنانات والرادارات ومن أجهزة التنصت والتجسس"، وأضاف: "نريد أن نصل بالقطاع إلى لحظة نسمِّيه فيها "قطاع حفظة القرآن" 10 و20 حتى 100 ألف أو يزيد، قطاع الانطلاق نحو القدس".

COMMENT (2):

The man made a very stupid statement which belie all the Hamas claims of pluralism and dedication to democracy and free elections. It is a very sectarian statement which reveals a Chauvinistic agenda.

He is saying that not only those who know the Quran, but those in particular (like himself and his son) who have memorized the Quran, are the ones more worthy of leading the struggle! All others have simply to ride in the back of the bus!

So, George Habash, by this criterion is an infidel who is not qualified to lead the struggle, and by implication should ultimately be fought!

This goes to the very heart of the issue of why resorting to religion, and a very narrow definition of it, is very divisive of the Palestinian society and is very dangerous before liberation is achieved. Before liberation is even attempted, let alone achieved, Hamas is pitting one segment of society against another. First came the suppression of women. Next came that against those who do not know or memorize the Quran! Where is this leading?

Seriously, I did not at first give much weight to the fact that the Israeli occupation initially encouraged the emergence of Hamas as a counterweight to the nationalist liberation movement (at that time it was led by Fatah). But now I am beginning to see the advantages to Israel by having a movement like Hamas that is dividing the society and diverting energies from real liberation to religious Fatwas and slogans about who is fit to lead the struggle.

One final word: Memorizing the Quran, does not mean understanding the Quran. Understanding the Quran does not mean applying the Quran. The Muslim world is full of hypocrites who, as Abdul-Halim Qandil said in an Arabic article I posted a few days ago, go to the mosque in the morning and open their pockets for bribes at noon, and pray for the Pharaoh to stay in power! They recite the Quran and receive Netanyahu in the middle of Ramadan. They issue Fatwas about what the Quran supposedly says, while looking the other way while Jerusalem is Judaized and its Palestinian inhabitants kicked out of their homes.

Enough hypocrisy and ignorance! To those who are proud of memorizing the Quran, I say that even parrots can memorize many phrases!

"07/01/2008 Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh on Sunday called on France to provide assistance to the Palestinians, saying he welcomed "all international efforts" aimed at enhancing security in the region. In a letter to French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Haniyeh said the Gaza government is "prepared to cooperate with all international efforts to establish security and stability in the region."

According to AFP, the Hamas leader praised Sarkozy's call for an international peacekeeping force in the Palestinian territories, made at an international donors’ conference in Paris last month. Haniyeh said Sarkozy had proposed some "positive and encouraging initiatives" at the conference. "We followed your speech at the recent Paris conference in which we found many positive and encouraging initiatives aimed at ending the occupation and restoring the legal rights of the Palestinian people and ending their suffering," wrote Haniyeh.

He also said he would accept French mediation in resolving the Hamas-Fatah feud. However, Haniyeh blasted the revived settlement talks between Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian Authority President Mahmud Abbas."

So, Habila now welcomes "Sarkozy's call for an international peacekeeping force in the Palestinian territories." That is to say a NATO occupation force disguised as a "peacekeeping" force. Only a couple of weeks ago Hamas blasted this idea and vowed to fight such a force.

".....Both Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas and Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni have spoken positively about an international force in recent days, and they were not alone.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy said at Monday's donors' conference in Paris that France "proposes the deployment, when the time and conditions are right, of an international force to assist the Palestinian security services."

Abbas said Tuesday he supported Sarkozy's proposal, telling a press conference in Paris that he welcomed the idea. "We are working for this to become the international position in the near future," he said.

Livni hinted at a NATO meeting in Brussels earlier this month that NATO would have to play a part in ensuring security if Israel were to carry out significant territorial concessions......

"We are now in a process that is expected to strengthen the capabilities of the Palestinian Authority - so they would fight terror instead of Israel," Livni said. "However, one cannot exclude the possibility that we will need to discuss what can be the role of NATO in supporting the need for a change, a real change, on the ground."

Hamas spokesmen, however, have said consistently they would oppose any international force and view it as an occupier no different than Israel......."

أصدر رئيس الوزراء الفلسطيني إسماعيل هنية قرارًا بالعفو عن 20 سجينًا ينتمون إلى حركة "فتح" من سجون وزارة الداخلية بقطاع غزة، وذلك مكرمةً للوفد البرلماني العربي الذي يزور غزة.

جاء ذلك خلال حفل الوداع التكريمي اليوم الأربعاء (17-2) في غزة للوفد البرلماني الذي يستعد لمغادرة القطاع بعد ساعة من الآن.
وأكد هنية للوفد العربي أن حكومته حريصةٌ على تحقيق الوحدة الوطنية الفلسطينية، لافتًا إلى أن المصالحة باتت قريبة جدًّا.

ورحَّب الوفد البرلماني بالمكرمة، واعتبرها بمثابة خطوة على طريق تحقيق المصالحة الوطنية وإنهاء الانقسام.

This is outrageous and shows how Hamas deals with law and rights.

At first Hamas claimed that it was not holding political prisoners from Fatah. It maintained that those in prison are held on criminal charges.

If that is the case, how can Habila on his own, decide to release 20 "criminals" just to show his "generosity" to visiting Arab "parliamentarians"?
