"PALESTINIAN people, including women and children, injured in Israeli bombings in Gaza could be brought to Bahrain for urgent treatment, an MP said last night.

Nasser Al Fadallah, whose four-man aid delegation returned home yesterday after being stranded in Gaza for 12 days, told the GDN that many patients would die unless they were given access to basic medical facilities. "We are looking to bring some Palestinians here because we saw so many critical cases," he said at a meeting held to welcome the delegation at the Al Eslah Society in Muharraq. "We want to bring people to Bahrain or other countries that have the technology and experience to deal with such cases.
"We want to help women and children and those wounded in the war. "People are dying - there is a shortage of water, food and medicine in Gaza."

Mr Al Fadallah said Bahrainis must do more to help the suffering Palestinians, who live under constant fear of attack in terrible conditions but with great dignity. "When we were in Gaza, we could hear the F16 planes bombing and we saw planes without pilots searching for people," he said. "Women and children were victims and hospitals were damaged. "We have to give more aid to the people there and put pressure on the government to support the people in Gaza and end the (Israeli) siege. "The societies in Bahrain should take the initiative and the whole world should hear the voice of the Palestinian people," he said.

The delegation, including Hamad Town Mosque imam Shaikh Jalal Al Sharhi, Al Eslah Society executive director Khalid Karim Abdulkarim and Ebrahim Ahmed Abdulrahim, flew home on board a private plane sent by His Majesty King Hamad. They landed at Bahrain International Airport at around 3pm. The delegation was stranded in Gaza after missing a chance to escape after the Salaheddin border crossing was sealed by Egyptian authorities."
