Egyptian authorities close down three tunnels used for smuggling food to Gaza
"RAFAH, (PIC)-- Egyptian security sources in the northern Sinai governerate said that it has confiscated large amounts of fuel and food found from three different tunnels discovered at the Egyptian border with the Gaza Strip which has been reeling under a tight siege for three years.
The source added that the three tunnels were discovered in the Qumboz neighbourhood to the north of the Rafah crossing and that the tunnels were being used to smuggle fuel and food from Egypt into Gaza.
The source added that the goods confiscated included food, parts, home appliances and clothes and that they were packed in cardboard and plastic containers in additions to cans filled with fuel.
A security cordon was placed around the three tunnels and will remain until the tunnels are destroyed, according to the same sources. "
