Maariv: a shipment of weapons, destined for PA security forces, arrives in the West Bank
"Bethlehem - Ma'an - A shipment of weapons entered the occupied Palestinian West Bank on Sunday from Jordan, through the Allenby Bridge, the Israeli newspaper Maariv reported on Monday.
The paper added that the shipment was for use by the Palestinian Authority security bodies after Israel agreed upon its entry. The paper said that the source of the weapons was not clear.
Palestinian sources told Maariv that "the deal to bring in the weapons was agreed upon between the PA and Israel weeks ago."
Official Palestinian sources in the PA denied any knowledge about the shipment. Some Israeli sources also refused to give any information regarding the shipment though they admitted that political circles in Israel had changed their policy regarding allowing the PA to bring in weapons from outside.
