"Gaza - Ma'an – The Fatah-affiliated Al Aqsa Brigades have stated that the positions of the Fayyad government, in regard to armed resistance groups, "doesn't represent the vision and philosophy of the resistance and the defence of the dignity of Palestinians".
A statement issued by Abu Al Muntasir, a prominent Aqsa Brigade leader in the Gaza Strip, declared, "This will make it more easy for Hamas to attack the Fatah movement, and say that we are 'standing against the resistance'. "
Abu Al Muntasir added that Fayyad "should have insisted on the resistance and its soul, and given his support to it… We will not lay down our weapons, and will not stop our resistance, as long as our people are suffering from the occupation.""
