Hamas: Abbas should stop participating in Gaza siege

"GAZA, (PIC)-- The Hamas Movement has urged PA chief Mahmoud Abbas to stop participating in boosting the siege on the Gaza Strip, pointing to Abbas's call on Europeans not to open Rafah crossing.

Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman in Gaza, said in a press statement on Sunday that the two European boats that arrived in Gaza in a bid to break the siege should pose as a model for Arabs and Muslims.

He said that popular satisfaction engulfed the Gaza Strip at the arrival of the two vessels, because the people in Gaza felt that their patience and steadfastness were bearing fruit.

The people felt that the Europeans are standing by their side in face of the siege, which enhanced their patience particularly after sensing that the world masses were against continuation of the siege, he elaborated.

Abu Zuhri asked Arab parliamentarians to follow suit and visit Gaza, noting that they do not face big obstacles like those westerners but on the contrary they have an Arab land border namely Rafah through which they could visit the Strip and embarrass the official Arab regimes."
