Relatives of tunnel victims accuse Egypt of killing their next of kin

"RAFAH, (PIC)-- Relatives of the victims of the Rafah tunnels dug between Gaza Strip and Egypt have accused the Egyptian authority of deliberately killing their next of kin through spraying poisonous gases inside those tunnels.

A group calling itself "relatives of the tunnel victims" issued a press release on Saturday charging Egyptian security with chasing Palestinians over and under the ground after closing the Rafah border terminal.

"The Egyptian authority closed the border terminal before patients and sprayed toxic gases in the tunnels, which were dug as the only solution to break the siege even though being a simple measure", the statement said.

It pointed out that 34 Palestinians were killed inside those tunnels since the Israeli withdrawal from the Gaza Strip in mid September 2005, and held the Egyptian security responsible for the lives of their relatives.

The statement urged Cairo not to surrender to Zio-American pressures. "The Egyptians should have rather stood by their brothers instead of siding with occupation", the statement concluded. "
