Larijani cautions Obama on Iran policy

Press TV

"Iran's parliament speaker Ali Larijani says that US president-elect Barack Obama should show clear signs of change to regional nations. "Obama can understand that change does not only mean a change of color and superficial differences. Changes should have strategic bases," Larijani said in Tehran, Saturday.

At his first press conference since winning the US presidential election, Obama accused Iran of trying to develop nuclear weapons and lending support to terrorist organizations. "Iran's development of a nuclear weapon I believe is unacceptable. We have to mount an international effort to prevent that from happening," Obama claimed. "Iran's support of terrorist organizations, I think, is something that has to cease."

Larijani said Obama's remarks over Iran's nuclear program followed the same erroneous policy of former US statesmen. "Obama's words were tantamount to moving on the previous, wrong track."....... "
