Israel threatens to sever talks with Abbas if Sana'a talks succeed


"OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- Israeli political sources threatened to sever negotiations with PA chief Mahmoud Abbas if the talks on Sunday between Hamas and Fatah in Sana'a produced an agreement on forming a national unity government.

"If Abbas decided to return to a unity government with Hamas, Israel would not carry out negotiations with him and would stop the talks on the permanent status," the Hebrew radio quoted Israeli political sources as saying.

An Israeli TV channel also quoted other political sources as saying that Israeli premier Ehud Olmert and foreign minister Tzipi Livni said that in case a Palestinian unity government was established, the negotiations between Israel and Palestinians would stop.

Palestinian analysts opined that the political interests which tie the PA with the Americans and Israelis would abort the efforts exerted in Sana'a to bridge the rift between Hamas and Fatah......."
