Interior ministry captures attackers on YMCA library

"GAZA, (PIC)-- The interior ministry in the PA caretaker government in Gaza announced that two of the culprits who blasted a highly explosive device in the YMCA library in Gaza city were arrested.

The ministry said in a press release on Sunday that preliminary investigation indicated that targeting Christian sites in Gaza was aimed at achieving certain political goals to serve "foreign agendas" and to instigate tension in the "strong relations with our Christian brothers in Gaza Strip".

It noted that the measure followed the ministry's great efforts to eliminate all groups trying to spread security chaos.

The ministry advised those trying to spread unrest in the Strip to desist from exploiting the people's harsh living conditions to attain "cheap ends".

"Christians are an integral part of Palestinian society and one of its fundamental components", the statement said, stressing that the ministry would not allow anyone to target Christians or non-Christians."
