Hamas deplores Arab officials exployting Palestinian suffering for political aim

"GAZA, (PIC)- The Hamas Movement strongly denounced some Arab officials for exploiting the suffering of the Palestinian people especially the opening of the Rafah crossing for the achievement of political aims.

In a press statement received by the PIC, Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, stated that the statements issued by some Arab officials which stipulate the return of the PA leadership to control the crossings and the implementation of the 2005 crossing agreement before any opening of the Rafah crossing is an attempt to employ the suffering of the Palestinian people to achieve political gains.

Dr. Abu Zuhri explained that the crisis in Gaza is humanitarian as a result of the siege and using it like this in order to exercise political pressures on Hamas is unacceptable and immoral.

The spokesman highlighted that Hamas would not stay passive towards the continuing closure of the crossings which turned Gaza into a big prison and sentenced its people to slow death.

The spokesman also underlined that Hamas's keenness on dialogue does not mean that it can for one moment succumb to pressures overriding the legitimacy it democratically won."
